GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE – E-COMMERCE

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

For the purposes of these general terms and conditions:

  • Data Controller: “UCBM” – Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, located in Via Álvaro del Portillo 21, Rome, Italy, ZIP Code 00128.

  • Product: “Summer School”, an educational pathway for students in their third and fourth years of secondary education.

  • Website: https://summerschool.unicampus.it/, owned by UCBM.

  • Consumer: any natural person or user purchasing the service at a distance.

These terms apply exclusively to online purchases made via the Website.


2. SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CONTRACT

2.1 The Controller sells and the Consumer purchases the university orientation programme “Summer School 2026”. Details regarding schedule, availability, and fees are available on the Website.

2.3 Participation Options:

  1. Standard Fee: includes lunch and daytime tutoring. It excludes accommodation, transfers, and breakfast.

  2. Residential Package: includes accommodation in a 4-star hotel (double/triple rooms), breakfast, lunch, dinner, transfers to/from the University, 24-hour tutoring, and evening activities.

2.4 The contract is concluded exclusively online upon completion of the order on the Website.


3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & TRADEMARKS

3.1 Intellectual Property: All content on the Website (texts, software, images, graphics, etc.) is the exclusive property of the Controller or third parties. Any unauthorized reproduction, downloading, or dissemination is strictly prohibited.

3.2 Trademarks: The logos of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma are registered trademarks. Unauthorized use is prohibited.


4. ACCESS AND REGISTRATION

4.1 To purchase the program, Consumers can:

  • Register in the dedicated section to create unique credentials (username/email and password).

  • Select the program and complete the purchase directly.

4.2 Security: The Consumer is solely responsible for safeguarding their credentials and is liable for any damages resulting from their misuse or unauthorized disclosure to third parties.


5. CONCLUSION AND EFFECTIVENESS

5.1 The contract is concluded when the Controller sends an order confirmation email following receipt of payment.

5.2 Confirmation Details: The email includes Consumer/guardian details, order number, purchased programme, billing data, and a link to these Terms.

5.3 Accuracy: The Consumer must verify the data and promptly notify any errors to [email protected].


6. PAYMENT METHODS

Payments are accepted exclusively in Euros via:

  • Credit Card: Processed through a virtual POS (Unicredit). The Controller reserves the right to verify card validity and fund availability.

  • PayPal: Charged upon order confirmation, subject to PayPal’s standard verification procedures.


7. PRICES AND DISCOUNTS

7.1 VAT & Taxes: Prices include VAT where applicable. Educational services may be VAT-exempt (Art. 10, Presidential Decree 633/72), in which case a €2 stamp duty applies.

7.2 Available Discounts:

  1. Early Bird: €100 discount for registrations by March 31st.

  2. 10% Discount: For siblings/children of UCBM alumni/students, children of UCBM/Fondazione employees, siblings of past participants (2023-2025), family enrollments (e.g., twins), and affiliated institutions.

  3. 15% Discount: For those enrolling in two different weeks (valid on the second week).

Note: Discounts in point 2 are not cumulative. Requests must be sent to [email protected] with supporting documentation.


8. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

The Consumer has the right to withdraw from the contract, without penalty, within 14 (fourteen) days from the date of the payment confirmation email.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Controller is not responsible for:

  • Hardware/software failures or internet disruptions on the Consumer’s side.

  • Fraudulent use of payment methods by third parties, provided ordinary diligence was applied.

  • Interruptions due to force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances.


10. FINAL PROVISIONS

  • Confidentiality: All data relating to the Summer School program is confidential.

  • Data Storage: Orders are stored digitally in compliance with Italian security requirements (Legislative Decree 70/2003).

  • Dispute Resolution: Governed exclusively by Italian Law. Disputes may be submitted to ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) or the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Rome.
